Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has said travelling by sea to Benin Republic ahead of the qualifiers on Saturday, is the best route.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has decided the team will travel for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier by boat.
According to Rohr, the distance by sea is not only shorter but quite calm.
“It will be the best way to go there.
“Last Saturday, I made the trip and we were flying on the water. It was so quick and calm,” Rohr said according to SportingLife.
The trip by sea takes around an hour.
The Nigerian delegation will set sail for Benin capital Porto-Novo on Friday morning.
The three-time African champions lead Group L with eight points from four matches, while Benin is second on seven points.
