Two remanded in prison for stealing plastic bottles, baskets

Two persons were on Monday remanded by an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing plastic bottles and baskets.

The accused persons are; Oyekanmi Abdulkadri, M, 30 and Opeyemi Mustapha, F, 33.

The duo allegedly committed the offence on January 1, 2021, at Iyanu plastic in Osogbo.

The prosecutor, Kayode Adeoye told the Court that the accused persons stole some plastics valued N14,800 from one Fisayo Fidudusola.

The offence committed contravened section 516, 383 Criminal Code CAP 34 Vol II Law of Osun State 2002.

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the allegations slammed against him.

Defence counsel B.Y Dada, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms, promising to provide reliable sureties.

The prosecutor opposed the bail application, noting that the accused persons have been doing this before.

In his ruling, Magistrate Modupe Awodele remanded the accused persons at Ilesa Correctional centre.

The case was adjourned till February 9, 2021, for mention.
