Ali Namadi, chairman-elect of Bebeji local government area
of Kano state, is dead.
In a statement, Ibrahim Adamu Tiga, publicity secretary of
Namadi’s campaign team, said the deceased died around 1:00 am on Tuesday after
a brief illness.
This development comes three days after the local government
election in the state.
Namadi was one of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
chairmanship candidates in the just concluded local government council elections
held on Saturday.
Tiga said the late chairman drove himself to Bebeji General
Hospital for medical attention before he gave up the ghost.
He said Namadi’s funeral prayers will take place in Bebeji,
his hometown, on Tuesday morning.
The APC won all the 44 chairmanship and 484 councillorship
seats at the local government polls in Kano, defeating 11 other political
parties which took part in the election.
