Ubong King, a renowned public speaker and business
consultant, has passed away at 48.
The entrepreneur was said to have died of COVID-19
complications in Lagos on Saturday, not long after he contracted the killer
virus.
His death comes barely a day after Unyime-Ivy King, his
wife, shared a picture of the family — including the deceased and their four
children — to mark this year’s Christmas.
“It’s that time of the year…I celebrate Jesus, I celebrate
family, I celebrate good friends, and I celebrate the gift of life…Merry
Christmas everyone, from our family to yours,” she had written on Instagram on
Friday.
On Sunday, Unyime-Ivy posted a photo of a dimly-lit candle
in a dark background on Facebook to mourn her husband.
Born on August 22, 1972, King had his secondary education at
the Federal Government College, Lagos, and thereafter studied agriculture at
the University of Calabar.
He was the founder of Protection Plus Security Limited and
former chairman of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS)
international chapter 206, Lagos.
The deceased was also the president of the Ubong King
Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, aimed at training young people
towards leadership
He is survived by his wife and four children namely;
Adora-Edima, Jamon-Mfonabasi, Atara-Uyaiabasi and Sarah-Mbuotidem.
The development further stretches the list of Nigerians who
have breathed their last due to COVID-19 complications since the dawn of the
year 2020.
