President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday snubbed the invitation of the House of Representatives.
The House had on December 1, invited Buhari to address them
over the issue of security challenges bedevilling the country.
Reacting, Buhari’s aide, Lauretta Onochie had confirmed that
Buhari will today, Thursday, address a joint session of the National Assembly
But, the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar
Malami had faulted the invitation, saying the lawmakers had no powers to invite
Buhari.
However, Buhari was absent as the House of Representatives
commenced plenary, on Thursday.
Commenting on Buhari’s absence, a member from Rivers State,
Solomon Bob, in a point of order, urged Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila to update the
House on the subject matter.
Responding, Gbajabiamila said the House would wait for
official communication from the President.

Even if malami says, the reps have no power to summon Buhari, nothing stops our so called president from addressing the national assembly. it was going to be a closed session, anyways. Buhari hates to speak to his citizens, its so obvious
