Nigeria’s Minister of Sports and
Youth Development, Sunday Dare, has given the biggest hint yet, that Gernot
Rohr could be sacked as head coach of the national team.
This follows the Super Eagles’
failure to beat Sierra Leone over two games in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations
qualifiers.
The three-time African champions
threw away a four-goal lead at home to draw 4-4, before playing out a goalless
draw in Freetown on Tuesday.
It has led to Dare questioning
“the suitability and competences” of Rohr.
According to him, Nigerian
football “deserves better” and “the needful will be done”.
He tweeted: “The performance of
the Super Eagles from their last two matches calls to question the suitability
and competences of Technical Adviser, Rohr.
“Nigerian football deserves
better.
