Two officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) fell
off a speeding truck around Owo-Akure in Ondo while monitoring the Ondo
governorship election on Saturday.
The incident occurred at Igboroko community in Owo local
government area of the state.
The driver of the truck conveying the security operatives
had slowed down to inspect a polling unit along Owo-Akure road.
After a while, he sped off and those at the back of the truck lost balance. The two officials fell off in the process.
Some residents rushed to the scene to assist the operatives
but they sprang to their feet almost immediately and dashed towards the
direction of the truck.
Meanwhile, across the state, voting has been concluded at
the various polling units.
Results of the governorship election are currently being
collated across the 18 LGAs.
Seventeen political parties are participating in the
election, with 16 males and one female vying for the governorship seat of the
state.
