Ada Ameh, a Nollywood actress,
has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to tackle the unrest in the country
so she could bury her daughter in peace.
In an emotional-laden video on
her Instagram page on Thursday, the movie star revealed that she lost her
daughter after surgery in Abuja two days ago.
Ameh, however, said she has been
unable to travel to Abuja due to the widespread violence in the country which
necessitated the imposition of curfews by several state governors.
In the video clip, the
Lagos-based actress enjoined Buhari as well as Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of
the state, to address the situation of things.
“Please I just lost my daughter
two days ago, Mr President I beg you in the name of God Almighty my daughter
died in Abuja after surgery,” she said in a mixture of English and Pidgin.
“Please help me, let me go and bury my daughter in peace, na
beg I dey beg make una stop this thing let me go and bury my daughter in
peace.”
Ameh, who is well known for her role as ‘Emu’ in ‘The
Johnsons’, a TV series, also threatened to go naked to the airport if the
situation of things in the country is not brought under control.
“They should stop the unrest so that l can go and bury her
in peace. If not, I’ll go naked to the airport,” she added.
She said it was unfortunate that the country’s leaders have
not properly managed the #EndSARS protests by deploying soldiers against
unarmed civilians.
