Wizkid, an Afrobeats musician, has dissed his industry
colleague, Reekado Banks, for scheduling the release of their collaborative
single amid the ongoing protests against police brutality in Nigeria.
The singer, born Ayo Balogun, had put off the release of
‘Made In Lagos’, his next album previously scheduled for October 15, as the
agitation for the reform of Nigeria’s police dominated the social space.
Reekado Banks announced the release date of a single he
recorded with Wizkid in a tweet on Thursday.
He tagged Wizkid and used the EndSARS hashtags in the tweet.
“Out of control gbedu must drop. This one with my brother
@wizkidayo. ‘Omo Olomo’ midnight dropping. Still on the matter! #EndSARS #EndSARS
#EndPoliceBrutality,” Reekado Banks wrote.

In a now-deleted tweet, Wizkid said he didn’t believe Banks
wanted to put out a song at such time.
He also described Banks as a “fool” and “clout animal”.
“Delete this, dude. Can’t believe you’re doing this at a
time like this. Old song. #EndSARS fool,” Wizkid charged.
This came after he had dissed President Mohammadu Buhari for speaking of Donald Trump instead of the protest.
