Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has said that both Thiago
Silva and Ben Chilwell are in good condition to start in his side’s Premier
League clash against West Brom on Saturday evening.
Silva and Chilwell made their Chelsea debuts in their 6-0
victory against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup third-round tie on Wednesday.
When asked at his pre-match press conference on Friday if
both players would start against West Brom, Lampard said: “We play another game
with a pretty tight turnaround on Tuesday and then another game on Saturday,
and then some international players will maybe go and play three games for
their countries, so I am managing that one.
“But having come through the game the other day as they did,
particularly Thiago [Silva] who did start that game and had 60 minutes in the
tank, that was good to see.
“With Ben [Chilwell]
I will maybe be a little more cautious just to make sure.
“His injury has been quite a challenging one, and I will make
those calls, but they are in a good place at the moment.”
The kick-off time for the match is scheduled at 5:30 pm.
