The Osun State Governor, Gboyega
Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress, APC, have appealed the Election
Tribunal judgement that declared Ademola Adeleke winner of the 2018
governorship election in the state.
Oyetola asked the Court of Appeal
in Abuja to reverse the majority judgment delivered last Friday by the
tribunal.
The tribunal had, by a majority
judgment of two members, voided the election of Oyetola, and declared Adeleke
winner.
In a 39-ground notice of appeal
filed by their team of lawyers, led by Wole Olanipekun (SAN), the APC and
Oyetola faulted the majority judgment given by Justices Peter Obiora and
Anyinla Gbolagunte.
APC and Oyetola want the Court of
Appeal to dismiss Adeleke and PDP’s October 16 petition, uphold their (APC,
Oyetola) appeal, and set aside the majority judgment.
