Atiku’s Diss Song: Charly Boy makes u-turn, denies collecting money from Keyamo

Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy has refuted his earlier confession that he collected money from Festus Keyamo, SAN, to release a diss song against Atiku Abubakar.

Charly boy, explained on Tuesday that he released such video, one each against both the APC and PDP presidential candidates at the eve of the 2019 general elections, but was not paid by anyone.

He added that he remain non-partisan,and was neither in support of any political party, as his yearnings was for the not-too-young-to –run mantra to strive.

“For someone to believe that I collected money in nine digits from a politician for a video clip is laughable, because even if I am Davido or Wizkid, who will pay me such amount.

“Some persons are bent on denting the brand that I have built over the years, but I am not deterred because the struggle for a better Nigeria must continue, and my mouth cannot be shut,” he said.

Meanwhile Mrs Folake Agunbiade, who is the Knowledge Management and Learning Manager of ‘OurMumuDonDo’ Movement, has said that Charlyboy, remains the Chairperson of the group

She disclosed this during a Press Conference in Abuja.

According to Agunbiade, there are baseless trendy reports, especially on social media, that Charly boy has been relieved of his position as the group’s chairman because of an alleged financial transaction.”

“In this wise, the management of Ourmumudondo restates that there is no change in the corporate governance of the movement, and Mr Charles Oputa (aka CharlyBoy) remains the chairman of the organisation”

“We acknowledge several social media reports on the alleged transaction between Charlyboy and Mr Festus Keyamo,Spokeperson of the Buhari Presidential Campaign Organisation.”

“The organisation wishes to state clearly that the alleged transaction did not arise from or on behalf of its activities or projects, and therefore it has no implication for our credibility as a movement.

“We want all Nigerians of goodwill to know that the allegations and counter allegations have no bearing on the movement and its activities,” She said.

This is coming days after National Secretary of the group, Adebayo Raphael issued a statement after an emergency meeting, announcing the decision of the group to relive Charly Boy of his position.

“That we have come to the doleful conclusion that you step aside as a Trustee of the Foundation and as the Convener of the OurMumuDonDo Movement within 24hours starting from the moment you receive this letter today, 22 March 2019. Failure to comply with this recommendation shall leave us with no other option but to ask members of the public to cease any further dealing and interface with you, and we shall not hesitate to take all necessary lawful steps to ventilate our remonstrance and ensure that the credibility of this Foundation is protected,” Raphael noted in the said statement.

Charly Boy admitted in an interview that Keyamo paid ‘heavy money’ to use his diss song against Atiku, the main challenger of President Buhari in the 2019 elections.

The co-convener of #OurMumuDonDo Movement, Deji Adeyanju, who resigned from the movement on Wednesday, had accused Charly Boy of collecting money from the presidency during his (Deji) stay at Kano Central Prison.

The song, ‘Another Guy Man,’ was posted to YouTube on January 25. It has 6,693 views and 44 comments on Charly Boy’s channel as at Friday afternoon.
