Former Minister of Aviation, Femi
Fani-Kayode, on Friday pointed out the “treatment” that would be meted out to
President Muhammadu Buhari if he rigs the upcoming elections.
Nigerians will on February 16
file out to perform their civic right of voting for the president of their
choice.
Ahead of the election, there has
been allegation majorly from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that Buhari was
plotting to rig the poll using the Independent National Electoral Commission,
INEC.
However, Fani-Kayode has warned
that the president will be given the Venezuelan treatment if he rigs the upcoming
election.
In a tweet, the former Minister
also condemned the alleged detention of a loyalist to the PDP presidential
candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Tunde Ayeni.
Fani-Kayode, however, warned that
Buhari will lose the upcoming election even if he detains all members of the
opposition.
He tweeted: “The detention of
Tunde Ayeni and harassment of other Atiku loyalists will not alter the outcome
of the coming election. Even if Buhari detains every member of the opposition
before Feb.16th he will still be sent packing. And if he rigs we will give him
the Venezualan treatment.”
