Immediate past Governor of Ekiti
State, Ayodele Fayose has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari over his
presidential rally in Kano State on Thursday.
Buhari had on Thursday endorsed
Governor Umar Ganduje during his presidential rally despite bribe allegations
against him.
On issue of corrupt charges
against Ganduje, the president said he is a sitting Governor, enjoys immunity
from prosecution in his own right and is presumed innocent until proven guilty
in a court of law.
Fayose, reacting to the rally in
Kano described Buhari as the ‘grandfather of Corruption Family of Nigeria celebrating
the exploits of one of his children. “
Fayose on his Twitter page wrote:
“The grandfather of Corruption Family of Nigeria went to Kano today in
continuation to celebrate the exploits of one of his children.
“Siblings of the Kano child in
whom Baba Corruption is well pleased also came from neighbouring country to
join in the celebration of corruption.”
Governors Issa Moussa of Zinder and Zakiri Umar of Maradi States, both from the
Republic of Niger, were in Kano State to rally support for President Muhammadu
Buhari’s re-election.
