Titi Abubakar, the wife of the
presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar,
has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC),
for taking credit for railways built and fully paid for by former President
Goodluck Jonathan’s government.
She said this yesterday, at a
Town Hall meeting organised in her honour, by Ndigboamaka Progressive
Association in Lagos.
According to Titi, Buhari’s
government cannot point at any major project it started during his tenure.
“Since the APC came into office,
they could not initiate any project and, even the railways that they are now
commissioning, were fully paid for by Jonathan. All they are doing is to
complete what was almost completed and claim it as their project. They should
point at any project that they started and completed.
“We have traversed the entire
country; to bring a message of hope and we are confident that God will crown
our efforts.
“Atiku said I should tell you
that the wants to better the lot of our people. He wants to cleanse the mess
that this administration created. The other party said that the PDP ruled for
16 years, but, what they have borrowed in less than four years is far much more
than what the PDP borrowed in its entire time that it was in power. When a
government is not functioning well, we should vote them out and I believe
Nigerians would do the right thing by voting out the APC.
“Even president Buhari’s wife
told the entire nation that her husband is not in charge and that the country
is being controlled by two men. Should Nigerians still vote for a man who is
being controlled by a cabal?
“Atiku is pro-business and is a
wealth creator; who has successful businesses and has been able to manage them
well,” Titi said.
