The Governor of Borno State,
Kashim Shettima, has come under attack after crying when he led a delegation
from his state to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Monday.
Kashim Shettima had on Monday, reportedly broke down in tears while addressing
President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
The governor was moved to tears
because of what he described as the recent setbacks in the fight against Boko
Haram insurgency.
Shettima, however, stated that
the leaders have not lost hope in the President’s ability to win the war and
restore peace in the state.
Shettima, amid tears, told Buhari
that the delegation came to present a set of observations and specific requests
from a security meeting held a week ago in the state, which will require urgent
presidential intervention.
But reacting, a former Minister
of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode stated that Shettima’s tears would continue to
flow until he opens up on the role he allegedly played in the abduction of
Chibok schoolgirls.
Fani-Kayode tweeted, ”The
Governor of Borno State wept about the plight of his people in the hands of
Boko Haram during a meeting with Buhari.
”The truth is until he confesses
about the role he played in the abduction of the Chibok girls and tells us why
he and friends started Boko Haram his tears will flow.”
