Former President Olusegun
Obasanjo has fired yet another shot at President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he is
sick in the spirit, body and soul.
The elder statesman said this in
an interview with BBC Yoruba.
The former president said Buhari
needs to rest and allow another person to take charge of the country.
Obasanjo said when people
complain to him that the next person may not do better, he tells them that
democracy gives room for replacement.
“Buhari is sick in the spirit,
body and soul. Let’s beg him to go and rest. He has tried his best. Let give
chance to another person,” Obasanjo said.
“When people ask me that what if
the next person is not suitable, I tell them that is the beauty of democracy.”
In his state of the nation
address on Sunday, Obasanjo accused the president of taking the country back to
the Sani Abacha era.
He accused the Buhari government
of derailing the country’s fledgling democracy by using security institutions
to fight its critics.
“EFCC, Police and Code of Conduct
Tribunal are also being equally misused to deal with those Buhari sees as
enemies for criticising him or as those who may not do his bidding in
manipulating election results. Criticism, choice and being different are
inherent trade mark of democracy. If democracy is derailed or aborted, anarchy
and authoritarianism will automatically follow,” Obasanjo had said.

With due respect Chief. you are the cause of everything otherwise I see no reason why you should have worked against the good government of President Johnathan who intelligently was taking Nigeria to the promise land especially in economy. You then supported this evil, illiterate and idiot Buhari who all right thinking person had already seen as one whose government will spell doom for the country. According to Johnathan by then, "you wouldn't mind handing over the country to the devil" provided you remove him(Johnathan) as president. You have achieved your aim, so remove him (Buhari)the way you enthrone him, otherwise God will not forgive you as the cry of many who are suffering and those who died in poverty since the removal of Johnathan will not leave your house from generation to generation
