Peter Obi, the vice-presidential
candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says no other party will get a
single vote in Delta state.
Speaking at the state on
Thursday, Obi said the state has been loyal to the PDP since 1999, and that
loyalty will continue post 2019.
“Okowa dey work, we dey see am.
You know say Delta no dey carry last, Okowa dey work, when you combine this, no
party will get one vote here,” he said in the local pidgin English.
“Make sure no other party gets
one vote in this state. Everywhere I go in Delta, Okowa dey work, everything
wey you see for Delta, na PDP do am. These people wey dey come tell you story
now, they never do anything for Delta.
“All they do for Delta is to take
oil, and bring nothing. Nothing nothing, they have done nothing for Delta. So
Delta people, make your eye shine well well, make them no cheat Delta.”
He said the opposition has no
liking for Delta state, calling on the people to vote Atiku, and the PDP, to
make sure everything in the state works.
Obi called on the people to join
the former vice-president and himself, to get Nigeria working again.
Other persons present at the
political campaign included senate president Bukola Saraki; Ifeanyi Okowa, governor
of the state; Uche Secondus, national chairman of the PDP.
