The Presidency has disclosed that
President Muhammadu Buhari will sign the 2018 Appropriation Bill into law on
Wednesday.
Recall that the Special Adviser
to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina had hinted last
Wednesday, that the budget will be signed this week without revealing the exact
day and time.
The National Assembly passed the
budget on May 16, over seven months after the president submitted the proposals
to the lawmaker.
But, in a statement he signed and
sent to NigerianEye, on Tuesday, Adesina disclosed that Buhari will sign the
budget by “noon(12 pm)” on Wednesday.
Adesina also disclosed that the
weekly “Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting will not hold tomorrow,
Wednesday, June 20, 2018.”
This, Adesina said was due to the
“Eid-el-Fitr holidays last Friday and yesterday, which affected preparation of
Council memoranda.”
