Alhaji Ali Saidu, a renowned All
Progressives Congress chieftain in Bauchi State has urged the party’s factional
headquarters not to hesitate to sack Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, and nine others
from the party.
The APC chieftain is accusing
Dogara’s faction of dragging the APC before the court of law in Abuja, where he
is challenging the recent Congresses in the State.
Saidu in an interview with dailypost in Bauchi, that their action was in haste, therefore,
contravene the APC constitution.
“It’s expected that all aggrieved
members should exhaust all avenues of complains and wait to hear from the
party’s national headquarters aftermath of our Congresses, which is in line
with APC constitution, but they drags the party before a competent court
without waiting to hear from the part. “Saidu laments.
It could be recalled that the
Speaker-Dogara, former Police Affairs Minister, Dr Yakubu Ibrahim Lame,
Barrister Zailani, former reps member from Toro, Hon. Aminu Tukur. Bauchi state
Assembly member, among others had dragged the APC to the Federal High Court in
Abuja, and demanded for the cancellation of the party’s congresses in Bauchi
over alleged irregularities by agents of the government.
The APC chieftain added that the
action of Dogara’s faction had already confirmed and proved to APC the rumours
that they were leaving the ruling party to the opposition.
“Already we have information that
Dogara’s APC faction are making contact to defect to the opposition ahead of
2019 elections and have allegedly invested in the opposition deliberately to
scuttle Buhari”s second term ambition,” added Saidu.
He said that Abubakar and
Buhari’s choice as governor and president respectively was not negotiable come
2019 elections, attributing same to star performance of APC in fighting
corruption in Nigeria.
“Most of them that dragged the party to court
may be in fever of losing their elected position ahead of the 2019 and are
looking for an alternative since they are no longer having the support of their
people again,” Saidu stressed.
