Reno Omokri, former aide to
ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan, has mocked President Muhammadu Buhari for
approving $1bn for the fight against insurgency in the North-East.
Recall that the Minister of
Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, conveyed the approval to the media at the end of the
national security council meeting presided over by President Buhari.
Reacting via his Twitter handle,
Omokri insinuated that the federal government was insincere about the proposed
utilisation of the fund, saying the government had earlier announced to
Nigerians that it has defeated Boko Haram.
In a sarcastic tweet, he said:
“$1 billion that Nigeria does not have and probably has to borrow, has been
released by Buhari to fight an enemy he told us had been defeated a year ago.
“The more you look at the Buhari
administration, the less you see. A government that reaches out to Boko Haram
but not to the opposition!”
