Senator Shehu Sani, representing
Kaduna Central, has reacted to the controversies surrounding the award
reportedly presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by the members of Martin
Luther King’s family.
The family of the great black
American human rights activist had visited Buhari at the Presidential Villa
after which the presidency declared, “President @MBuhari today at the State
House received Martin Luther King Jnr’s family.
“He was also conferred with the
1st Black History Month National Black Excellence and Exceptional African
Leadership Award 2018. #AsoVillaToday.”
However, the children of Martin
Luther King and the King Center came out to deny issuing the any award to
Buhari.
Reacting to the development, the
Senator advised Buhari to be more careful next time to know what he’s being
issued.
He twitted, “Next time they bring
a box of award to Baba in the dark, he should first light up a lamp in case
there’s outage and then open the box to see what’s inside.
“A pebble look like a Diamond in
the dark.”
