A socio-political group, The
Nigerian Wailers, has accused former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili of
attempting to hoodwink unsuspecting Nigerians through her ‘Red Card’ campaign
which aims to chase bad leaders out of public office in 2019.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja,
yesterday, Mr. Ibrahim Sanni, the spokesman for the group, said: “it is sad
that Nigerians were made to go through a deceptive change in 2015 aided by same
set of characters now parading themselves as lover of the country through a
vague advocacy group called Red Card Movement.
“Nigerians must open their eyes
clearly now more than ever, that 2019 is the best time to elect credible
leaders across the country, who can help fast track National development as
Buhari’s government has made an already bad situation worse.”
Mr. Ibrahim went further to say,
“if those who are promoting Red Card are not deceptive, they should have
specified who they intended to issue with the Red Card in 2019.”
He stated that the only person
Nigerians want to vote out at all cost in the next general election is
President Muhammadu Buhari.
The group said, they are still
observing the emergence of Nigerian Intervention Movement (NIM) and that they
hoped it was not another phony group being sponsored by the same set of
politicians that have plunged the country into political and economic turmoil.
He noted that the group could not
figure out why Madam Oby Ezekwesili abandoned the Bring Back Our Girls advocacy
hurriedly few months to the general election and jumped on another movement
which looked dubious and suspicious.
Sanni, however, said the group
will not relent until Buhari and other bad leaders in the country were chased
out in 2019.
