The Kano State House of Assembly on Thursday approved the
nomination of Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the Ganduje-led factional chairman of the
All Progressives Congress, APC, as a commissioner.
Abbas resigned as the state Chairman of the APC earlier on
Thursday.
His name was forwarded to the House of Assembly by the state
Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The letter was read on the floor of the House by the speaker
Abdullahi Yusuf Ata.
Following the motion moved by the Deputy Speaker of the
House, Alhaji Hamisu Chidari urging the lawmakers to consider the nominee given
his numerous contributions to the development of the state as the APC chairman,
they unanimously approved his appointment.
He was the Commissioner for Environment during the
administration of Engineer Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
Abbas promised to work together with every member of the
state executive council to ensure the development of the state.
“Any ministry l am taken to, l will put all my efforts to
ensure that the party remain united for the betterment of the state and also
use my experience in all aspects,” he said.
