The average price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) rose by 21.16 percent, year-on-year in November.
Also the average fare paid by commuters for bus journey within the city and intercity increased by 7.51 percent and 14.78 percent, respectively, month-on-month.
However, the average price paid for petrol, diesel and kerosene dropped by an average of 1.3 percent month-on-month (MoM) and 1.5 percent year-on-year (YoY) in November 2017.
The National Bureau of Statistics disclosed these yesterday in its Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) price watch, Transport Fare Watch, National Household Kerosene price watch, Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) Price Watch and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel) Price Watch for November.
The NBS stated: “Average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) increased by 0.16 percent month-on-month and 21.16 percent year-on-year to N2, 377.81 in November 2017 from N2,374.07 in October 2017.
“States with the highest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Benue (N2,740.00), Osun (N2,616.66) and Enugu (N2,563.00).
“States with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Kogi (N2,100.00), Plateau (N2,008.33) and Abuja (N2,000.00).”
Similarly, “The average fare paid by commuters for bus journey within the city increased by 7.51 percent month-on-month and 18.89 percent (YoY) to N138.19 in November 2017 from N128.54 in October 2017. States with the highest bus journey fare within city in November 2017 were Abuja FCT (N362.50), Cross River (N214.29) and Adamawa (N206.66) while states with lowest bus journey fare within city in November 2017 were Katsina (N76.66), Borno (N75.73) and Ogun (N70.72).
Likewise, “Average fare paid by commuters for bus journey intercity increased by 14.78 percent month-on-month and 2.04 percent (YoY) to N1,505.00 in November 2017 from N1,474.90 in October 2017. States with highest bus journey fare intercity in November 2017 were Abuja FCT (N4500.00), Adamawa (N2,947.75) and Benue (N2,410.00) while states with lowest bus journey fare within city in November 2017 were Bayelsa (N9,33.33), Katsina (N898.27) and Kano (N795.45).”
“The average price paid by consumers for premium motor spirit (petrol) decreased by 0.7 percent (YoY) and 0.3 percent (MoM) to N 145.6 in November 2017 from N146 in October 2017. States with the highest average price of petrol were Bayelsa (N150.5), Akwa Ibom (N 150.33) & Ebonyi (N148.57). States with the lowest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Plateau (N143.6), Abuja FCT and Nasarawa (N144) & Katsina (N144.08).”
“The average price paid by consumers for automotive gas oil (diesel) decreased by 1.33% month-on-month and increased by 1.84 percent (YoY) to N199.26 in November 2017 from N201.96 in October 2017. States with the highest average price of diesel were Kebbi (N219.37) Taraba (N217.50) and Sokoto (N216.66).”
