The Action Democratic Party (ADP)
yesterday said it was a shame that President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling
All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot find lasting solution to the recurring
incidence of fuel scarcity in the country.
The ADP national chairman, Engr.
Yabagi Sani, in a statement signed by the Party’s Director of Media and
Publicity, Kayode Jacobs, said one of the major reasons Nigerians trusted their
destinies in the hands of President Muhammadu Buhari was the boast on having
solutions to rampant fuel crises and subsidy regime.
Sani, who said that the queues were
back after only two years, noted that “the government had remained helpless
with evidence that nothing concrete had been done to permanently solve the
problem.”
The ADP boss flayed Vice
President Yemi Osinbajo for saying that the NNPC and not government was paying
subsidy at this time, asking whether NNPC was different from government.
“Who is responsible for the
shameful handling of the fuel crisis and on whose behalf is NNPC doing
business?” Sani queried.
He added that “it is a shame that
the government is still faced with the option of having to approve increment in
pump price or pay subsidy.”
