Former Minister of Aviation, Femi
Fani-Kayode, has said that the President Muhammadu Buhari government paid the
sum of €3million to the dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram, for the latest
release of a batch of Chibok girls.
Fani-Kayode writing on Twitter,
stated that he got the figure from the Wall Street Journal and wondered how much
“went back into buying arms for Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen”.
He tweeted: “The Wall Street
Journal claims that the Buhari govt paid €3million as ransome to Boko Haram for
the latest release of a batch of Chibok girls.
“I wonder how much of that money
went back into buying arms for BH and the Fulani herdsmen? The picture is
getting clearer by the day.”
The Bring Back Our Girls group
recently faulted the Buhari’s administration over its silence on the remaining
girls in captivity.
