Thirteen persons are feared dead while 53 others have
sustained injuries after two female suicide bombers detonated explosive devices
in Biu, Borno State.
The two attackers were also said to have died in the twin
explosions which occurred at a market in the town at about 11:00 am on
Saturday.
The Borno Police Command has confirmed that 15 persons have
been killed while 53 others were in twin
blast that rocked Borno on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by Police Public Relation
Officer, Victor Isuku to newsmen in Maiduguri on Saturday, "at about
1140hrs, two female suicide bombers infiltrated and gained entry into Biu town
in Biu LGA. One of the bombers detonated IED strapped on her body within Biu
main market, while d other one detonated outside the market square.
" So far, a
total of 13 persons excluding the two suicide bombers, have been confirmed
killed in the two explosions. While 53 others sustained various degrees of
injuries."
"The Corpses
& the injured persons have been evacuated to General Hospital Biu.
Meanwhile, normalcy has been restored and the area rendered safe." Victor
statement concluded.
It was gathered from CJTF member who took the corpses to the
hospital that at least 19 people died in the blast.
"19 persons are
so far confirmed killed and 53 others injured," CJTF said.

So many people in Biu town where the bomb explosion took place on Saturday 2nd December were suspecting the NGO's in this evil act. How can they choose market square as the location for verification before issuing aid to IDP and on the same spot so called suicidal attack took place?? I believe Hon buba jubrin's bill on the need for establishing governmental agency to checkmate the activities of the NGO'S should seriously be considered
