A family of three, comprising father, mother and child were, at the early hours of yesterday, murdered by assailants suspected to be members of the badoo cult group in Ibeshe Ikorodu area of Lagos.
This is just as another cult group struck in PPL axis of Ojo Local Government Area, killing a yet-to-be-identified man.
The cultists also injured a man said to have visited the affected family for the Christmas celebration.
The visitor, whose identity was also unknown, was said to be receiving treatment at a hospital.
On the badoo killings, it was gathered that the killers struck when the Aro family was sleeping.
Both attacks occurred barely one week after the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Imohimi Edgal, hinted that the introduction of community policing, especially Onya bo, and the increase in Police visibility had resulted in 35 percent decline in crime within the state.
Vanguard gathered that the remains of the Ikorodu victims had been evacuated by the Police and emergency officials.
When Vanguard visited the scene of the Okokomaiko, Ojo attack, residents disclosed that the body of the victim was dumped at a junction by the cult group.
A resident, Mrs. Adebisi Olapeju, told Vanguard the attack occurred in the early hours of yesterday, adding that the cultists fired sporadically during the attack.
Contacted, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Chike Oti, promised to get back immediately. But at press time, he was yet to do so.
