One of the sureties for Nnamdi
Kanu and senator representing Abia South, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has stated that he
cannot be held responsible if the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra
(IPOB) fails to appear in court.
Nnamdi Kanu is expected to appear
in court on October 17.
In a chat with Arise News on
Thursday, Abaribe said prior to the intervention by the military, Kanu had
always assured him that he would be in court on the said date.
“He was supposed to appear in
court on October 17. It was our job as sureties to produce him in court. We
have been speaking with him”, Abaribe said.
“I spoke with him around August
23. I had to invite him to a meeting with the South-east Senate caucus in my
home at Obingwa, in Abia.
“We discussed and we told him
what we felt and where he was going out of bound and we told him to confine
himself to the laws of the land.
“Now, I spoke to him on September
11, and it was same day that the military moved into his place.
“So, he was supposed to be in
court on October 17; on September 11, the military were doing exercise around
his home and since then, nobody has seen him.”
The senator said he hasn’t been
able to speak with Kanu since the incident occurred, because the number he used
to use in reaching him (the IPOB leader) is off.
According to him, nobody knows
Kanu’s whereabouts presently.
“The real question is why will
you go one month before his appearance in court to effect an arrest, to kill
him or whatever?
“So, we felt that you cannot hold
me responsible if you didn’t wait for the date he was supposed to be in court.”

Oga relax, they can't touch you. The action they took was due to lack of wisdom. They are in the position to produce him now, not you.

ReplyDeleteYou better go nd bring him out from where you are hiding him. May I also remind you that by standing as a surety for him, you are not only one of his supporters but also one of his sponsors. A supporter nd sponsor of terrorism. Forget about what USA is saying. When the time comes they cannot save you or KANU. This is purely a Nigerian internal issue.
ReplyDeleteYou would have analyzed the logic before making comment. He never said he won't bring him to court, but Nigerian government took an unwise decision to invade his home through the military. Government should have waited till October 17, & if on or before the said date he refuses to show up, then an action will be taken, but not with the military. The best thing though still remain dailogue. Am from Kogi, not from the east.

ReplyDeleteyou should pray that he is still alive after the event, as military men don't play with terrorist as he has been branded after the evasion of the house, if his death then the body must be produce, who then will produce him , the evader or the surety, we Nigerians see that the action that lead to his escape was plan by the act of the evasion ,because what is the purpose of evading the house without taking him, or has he been kill by accident in the operation
