"This afternoon in New York
I joined a number of fellow African Heads of State at a Lunch hosted by
President Donald J. Trump. We discussed, among other things, America's ongoing
support for Nigeria's fight against Terrorism and Corruption.
"I thanked President Trump
for his goodwill phone call to me earlier in the year, while I was in London,
and for fulfilling the promise he made at the time regarding America's supply
of arms to our Military, to support the fight against Boko Haram.
"Our relationship with the
United States is one we value very highly, and we will continue to count on
America's enthusiastic support, including for the repatriation of looted public
funds, and in the security situation in the Lake Chad Basin and in the Gulf of
Guinea."
