The presidency on Friday said
President Muhammadu Buhari’s position is that Nigeria does not need
restructuring.
Presidential spokesman, Garba
Shehu, said what Nigeria needs is peace for its citizens to go about their
businesses and not restructuring.
He spoke when he received
Northern Christians and Muslim clerics who visited the Presidential Villa to
declare support for the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
The delegation under the aegis of
the Northern Inter Faith and Religious Organisations, was led by Bishop Edward
Chanami.
They urged religious institutions
to intensify prayers for the successes of the troops fighting the Boko Haram
sect in the North East.
Speaking, Shehu said: “Every day
we read one communique or resolution from one group or the other asking
government to review the constitution, restructure.
“First of all, we need peace in
Nigeria. Without peace, there will not be development or progress. Ordinary
Nigerians want peace so that they can go about their lawful activities.
“Ordinary Nigerians want food to
eat. It is not constitutional review and restructuring that will put food on
the table.
“It is better economy and this is
what the President is doing, trying to ensure that the resources in the country
are very well managed.
“A situation where a few people
in the past have been taking everything and pocketed our resources and they
shared among themselves, that period is over now.
“The President will make sure
that whatever is available to the people of this country, goes around the
country and is evenly distributed.”

That is ur opinion but the vast majority of Nigerians was restructuring and true federalism, don't don't feel what the poor masses are feeling, ur cabinets don't tell u the truth, when last did u watch our local television, u are busy watching DSTV, while common Nigerian and Cameroon match could not be aired live in the name of technical problem, do u know that, they won't tell u and u don't care, those milking Nigerian money will not allow u to think with ur head, they will keep confusing u to their advantage, unless God is not watching, everyone of them must pay the price of their crime none of them will be spared, whether u like it or not u can not decide for us what we want, at this stage we are old enough to choose on which part to follow, this is peace and free movement, if u restructure this country everything will fall in place

ReplyDeleteBuhari believes Nigeria needs no restructuring because he doesn't understand what it means. However, it's sufficient to let him know that there can no peace in Nigeria unless it's restructured. Buhari is indirectly work hard for Nigeria's disintegration.
ReplyDeleteIf this report is truly the President's position, then, it's unfortunate, because, power belongs to the people in a democratic setting. What's the use of the so called group set up headed by El-rufai to deliberate and sound out the masses on restructuring? The exercise seems dead on arrival, if actually the President made this comment. I hope the will of the people will prevail, because, the masses want restructuring and devolution of power.
