The Yoruba Youth Congress (YYC)
and the Coalition of Southwest Youths group have said the safety of the leader
of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, is not guaranteed if he
proceeds on his planned visit to Lagos.
The Yoruba Youth groups warned
Nnamdi Kanu to stay clear of Lagos, saying the center of excellence was not
part of the Biafran states.
The Indigenous People of Biafra,
IPOB, has disclosed that Lagos is the next State the group and its leader,
Nnamdi Kanu, will visit in its current tour of various states in the country.
Chairman of the Coalition of
Southwest youths group who doubles as the National President, Yoruba Youths
Congress, Prince Dapo Adepoju gave the warning late Wednesday evening while
speaking with newsmen in Akure, the state capital.
The group noted that as much as
Kanu had freedom of movement within the country, it will not tolerate the
violent procession that had greeted Kanu’s visit in the South-East.
The group said it was warning
Nnamdi Kanu to stay clear Lagos state for the sake of millions of Igbo’s who
have been living and doing business in Lagos even before his birth.
Prince Dapo said efforts of
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other eminent yoruba leaders in making sure Lagos and
indeed southwest states remained the most peaceful part of Nigeria cannot be
truncated by Kanu.
He said “In as much as we are not
saying Kanu cannot come to Lagos, But he should not bring his madness to Lagos;
we urge him to limit his unreasonable violent procession to the southeast
“We want to warn Nnamdi Kanu for
the sake of whatever he believes in and for the sake of millions of Igbos who
have been living and doing business in Lagos even before his birth to stay
clear of Lagos
“Efforts of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu
and other eminent yoruba leaders in making sure Lagos and indeed southwest
states remain the most peaceful part of Nigeria cannot be truncated by one boy
called Kanu
“Again, we are calling on Acting
President Yemi Osinbajo to order the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu
“Despite the fact that we were
part of the youths who initially begged the Federal government for his release,
but as it looks now, he’s provoking the youths.
“Every Nigerian knows that Kanu
has flouted his bail conditions and with this, we are sure that Kanu’s safety
is not guaranteed if he dares to disrupt the peace of innocent Lagos residents
just like he’s doing in the southeast
“We want to commend the Igbo
leaders who are on the verge of finding lasting solution for the menace created
by the terror (IPOB) group”, he said.

ReplyDeleteLet him come and put lives of ibos living in lagos and southwest in general in danger. Lagos is in Nigeria and not part of biafraud. No room for any procession in lagos if he tries it he will meet the Odua Liberation Army is surely ready to kick them out in a rough and tougher way
ReplyDeleteA word is enough for the wise if Kanu is wise at all
ReplyDeleteTraitors, chameleons, and cowards threatening the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, a man who commands about 70 million people and nearly 5 million of them alone reside in Lagos. Shame on you cowards for putting up with Hausa/Fulani murderous Islamic republic of Nigeria. Shame on you Yoruba Youth Congress.
ReplyDeleteYorubas are traitors, Hausa are cows,so what is Igbos? With this Igbos attitude even if Nigeria allow Biafra to go they will still not going to achieve anything bcos of their too know attitude,Igbos are too selfish as a person,as a tribe and also as a human being.
DeleteWhen somebody say ur safety is not guaranteed in his house, stay back in ur house instead of making noise
DeleteWelcome him with warm embrace so that when he leaves you (Yoruba nation) can insist on the demand for Oduduwa Republic.
ReplyDeleteKanu will desert Igbos when the chips are down. You don't put the lives of millions in danger because of personal interest and hatred for Buhari. And to those supporting Kanu, my question is, Have you counted the cost?
ReplyDeleteBy the time it starts, we won't be on the internet chatting Biafra. God bless Nigeria
Just typical of you, .....too petty
ReplyDeleteYou could have made a good point without resorting to abuses and name calling or trying your brainwashing ideas. Exposition on Tinubu robbing 'you people's destiny' and labeling 'Kanu as fighting for everyone' is the most fraudulent statement I've ever heard. Kanu's fighting for you Igbosand Lagos is not part of the the Igbos State. For avoidance of chaos, Kanu was advised not to bring his agitation rally to Lagos, because, Lagos is not a part of the place he wants to liberate.
ReplyDeleteDear yorubas, you siad KANU should not visit Lagos that lagos state is not part of biafra fine. Then, let the zoo break-up because that means nigeria is not one. To let nigeria know, the country call nigeria is not one and we will naver be. for peace to rain is to separate.Whether APC government,PDP,or any other one to come in power no more peace until we separate.
ReplyDeleteI am part of igbo and I support nnamdi Kalu but the idea of him coming to Lagos is unacceptable, he is putting the lives of the igbos residing there in danger, Lagos is the most peaceful state in Nigeria why do u want to cause commotion, east is enough for the agitation, why risking people's life.
