Why I must repent – Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye from Kogi West, on Wednesday admitted that Nigeria is currently ravaged by hunger and poverty, stressing that, Nigerian leaders including himself must repent, and deal with the problem.
Melaye, made the remark while sharing a video of him speaking at The Osasu Show Symposium held in Abuja on his official twitter handle, @dino_melaye.

“Nigerian leaders including me must repent and sincerely deal with hunger and poverty. Nigerians deserve better,” Melaye wrote.

Recall that the Kogi West Senator had last week admitted that the political elites have failed Nigeria and her teeming youth.

Melaye, who spoke as one of the panelists at the symposium had said, “When you speak the truth, you die, when you lie, you die; so it is better to speak the truth and die. I may sound very unpopular but I will speak the truth. Apart from militocracy, politics is responsible for poverty and hunger in Nigeria.
“Unfortunately, we the leaders, myself inclusive, have failed this nation and have failed the younger generation, myself inclusive. The reason why we are where we are today is because there is a disconnect between leadership and followership.
“As I speak to you, the problem why we are where we are is because of trust. There is no trust between the governed and those governing.

  1. Sir, my respected Senator Dino Melaye. Tanx a lot for the truth u eventually spilled out, it's long been awaited. But another truth is that, that's not the only truth, there are still more of them to come. And another thing is that, it appears to me as if this truth is a little too late with reference to u as a Senator battling some political instability. But to be late is better than never, who knows, may be someone may learn by ur example. I don't believe that the problem of the governed not trusting those governing is what brought us where we are today because the governed trust those governing otherwise we wouldn't be addressing anyone as the President or the Senator, we trust those that are governing. Even if the governed don't trust those governing, should that make those governing to lose their sense of direction? Should I become a thief because u don't trust me? Should how u see me then make me who I'm not?
No, no, and no sir. It's who u are that u are regardless of my views about u. But the REAL truth is, the problem of what brought us to where we are is the issue of trust, trusting those that shouldn't be trusted, trusting those that NEVER should have been trusted or people placing themselves in position of trust that they shouldn't be placed at and the rest just accepted them by stupid trust. That's is what brought us to where we are which is not where we should be. We trust too much and that's our problem. We deserve better than where we are today as a nation of 56 years old based on independence declaration. Trust had brought us all, shame and that shame is very SHAMEFUL. The only thing that can get us as a nation out of this shameful state is redirecting the trust we have in these untrustworthy people into the One and only trustworthy One, Jesus Christ God's Son. Imagine if u were born again, I mean if u have allowed Jesus Christ to rule, influence, and direct ur heart, would u have done some of those things u had done that when u remember today, u regret of and not proud to talk about? Sincerely speaking and I'm not trying to condemn u in any way. No, u wouldn't have. That's what it means by and one of the benefits of trusting in Jesus Christ. It's a total new life when someone accepts Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and it's not about religion, it's not about going to Mosque to pray five times a day, it's not about going to Mecca or Medina for any Ibadat nor is it about going to church twice a week or going to Jerusalem because none of the works of ANY religion has the power of salvation but acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior alone. Then our regrets and regretting will come to an end, then we become trustworthy and pleasing to the ONE that created us for good works, then we become loving and caring to the governed, and then, only then shall our Nation be transformed to what it should be, and then shall we be where we should be, and then the true change will manifest in the generations to come. As u go, may the knowledge of salvation in Jesus Christ be revealed to u and bring u to the place of accepting Jesus Christ as ur Savior and Lord. Good morning, and as usual, be blessed inJesusChristname, amen. Today, Thursday 08312017 @ 2:23am. Tanx Senator Dino Melaye.
