Former Minister of Aviation, Femi
Fani-Kayode has condemned the attack on maverick entertainer, Charles
Oputa also known as Charlyboy during a protest in Abuja on Tuesday.
Charlyboy and his group left
their meeting point at Unity Fountain and decided to take their campaign to the
popular Wuse Market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Upon their arrival, they were
attacked with stones by sympathizers of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Fani-Kayode, writing on his
Twitter page, said that Nigeria would have “exploded” if Charlyboy was
murdered.
He tweeted: “The Buhari govt. is
a murderous contraption that has no respect for human rights. Charly Boy Oputa
could have been murdered by Buhari’s footsoldiers today.
“If that had happened Nigeria
would have exploded. Tension grips the land as we approach Oct.1st. WE MUST
REJECT VIOLENCE!”
