Manchester United manager, Jose
Mourinho, has criticized the home supporters after their 2-0 win over Leicester
City on Saturday.
Mourinho says the fans inside
Trafford were too quiet, until Marcus Rashford opened scoring in the 70th
minute.
It is not the first time the
Portuguese has slammed the supporters, having claimed it could “do better”
after beating Hull in last season’s EFL Cup.
“Rashford scored from a corner that I didn’t even see because I was speaking with Lingard,” Mourinho said, before he was asked for clarification over whether he saw it.Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
“I didn’t, I was speaking with Lingard because Lingard was going to be the next player to come in when we scored the goal,” Mourinho added.
“I saw the ball jumping in the net, or the guys jumping, I don’t know.
“It was the first time I listen to the crowd because they were very quiet today, so it would be easy to know that was a goal because it was the first time I really understand the stadium was full.”
