Chelsea right wing-back Victor Moses has confirmed his availability for Nigeria’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon early next month.
Shortly after helping the Blues win their second straight game in the Premier League, the Super Eagle took to social media to announce that he will soon join the national team at their get-together in Abuja.
Moses, a former England U17 international, has not featured for the Super Eagles in 2017, having pulled out of the international friendly versus Senegal in March and June’s AFCON qualifier against South Africa owing to injury.
The Chelsea number 15 posted on Instagram: ‘’Off to join up with Nigeria for international duty after a massive 3 points today! ‘’.
Chelsea star, Victor Moses on Sunday departed London after helping his side beat Everton 2-0 to join up with Super Eagles camp in Nigeria ahead of Friday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon scheduled to hold at the Godswil Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Reacting after Blues victory at Stamford Bridge, Moses took to Instagram announcing his departure for the game. “Off to join up with Nigeria for international duty after a massive 3 points today,” Moses wrote.
Players have started arriving the team’s Abuja camp, but are expected to converge in Uyo on Monday to continue preparation for the crucial qualifier against the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions in a make or mar clash.
However, the Cameroonians have expressed fears over the return of the Chelsea wing back and few other Nigerian players for the upcoming double header qualifiers both in Uyo and Yaounde, Cameroon respectively.
Nigeria leads the Group B with maximum six points from two games, while Cameroon trail with two points from same number of matches played so far in the ongoing qualifiers.
Since Moses made his debut for the national team, he has played in World Cup qualifiers against Namibia, Malawi (2), Kenya, Ethiopia (2) and Algeria.
