South East political leader and
former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Maxi
Okwu has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari is beginning to show Nigerians
his true colours.
He said those who were not born
when Buhari was the military president voted him into power, nothing that
anyone who witnessed his reign in soldier uniform would not want to have him as
a leader.
Okwu told newsmen that former
President Goodluck Jonathan was removed from power because he did not match his
potential with performance.
According to him, so much
potential but poor delivery and corruption ruined his government.
He said but Buhari was in no way
better than Jonathan as a leader.
Okwu said, “There is justification for APC to condemn Jonathan’s administration because he failed us and it was because he failed us that we even thought of Buhari, who we knew his antecedents.Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
“Anybody who knew Buhari’s antecedents and wish or rooted for him took a leap in the dark because we all knew his antecedents when he first ruled the country under military.
“We knew him as somebody who is very stern as well as his disposition on religion, but for him to suddenly be attractive was because Jonathan failed us so terribly. We wanted anything but Jonathan. But Buhari has come out in his true colour to disappoint all of us.
“So, we are like jumping from frying pan to fire. Just a small performance by Buhari would have made us to have forgotten about Jonathan. For the PDP to be making noise now and appearing to be an option is a total indictment on the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“That was why many people including myself even though we had some reservation about Muhammadu Buhari, welcomed his emergence. But, it appears as if that Buhari seems to have acquired power and not sure of what to do with it due to inaction.”
