Prince John Emeka, an aspirant of
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the coming Anambra election has backed
out of the aspiration for the party’s ticket.
A short press statement by Emeka
cited irregularities in the party’s delegates list as the reason for his
withdrawal.
The aspirant who did not state
those responsible for the mutilation of the list simply announced his
withdrawal from the contest.
There have been accusations and
counter accusations over the party’s delegates list, with some aspirants
complaining of the party’s rank being infiltrated by members of other political
parties, with the hope of disrupting the emergence of the party’s choice of
candidate.
PDP would in today’s primary
feature five aspirants including; Dr Alex Obiogbolu, Mr Ifeanyi Ubah, Mr
Oseloka Obaze and Hon Linda Ikpeazu.
Another aspirant, Prof Ufodike
had earlier withdrawn from the race too, promising to support whoever emerges.
