Yoruba leaders plotting to make Yemi Osinbajo President – Northern group alleges

A Coalition of Arewa Youths has warned that the alleged plot by Yoruba leaders to make Yemi Osinbajo President of Nigeria in Muhammadu Buhari’s stead will fail.

The coalition which issued the warning, in a statement signed by Muhammed Shehu and Tanko Abdullahi, also maintained that the North will complete its eight-year tenure.
Accusing Yoruba leaders of making efforts to discredit the North ahead of the 2019 election, the youths vowed to resist all the alleged plans and antics.
The statement reads, “We are very much aware that all the attacks against President Muhammadu Buhari were planted in the media by the Yoruba and spread by southerners generally just to discredit the north in order to pave way for their son, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to become president.
“But their plans will fail insha Allah.
“We shall resist every of such plans and ensure by all means possible, that the north completes its eight-year tenure and possibly even continue after then, and that the federal structure of Nigeria as it currently is, is not tampered with by secession mongers and their collaborators.”
Describing Yoruba’s as the “most ungrateful stock in Nigeria,” the group said, “Having given power to the Yoruba on a platter of gold in 1999 as a way of compensating them for the June 12 saga, it is quite worrisome and unfortunate that they have lived up to their legendary reputation of backstabbing and betrayal by supporting the divisive calls for restructuring or dismemberment of the nation against the will and desire of the north.
“We gave the late Chief MKO Abiola the mandate in 1993 but shortly after that, as it is with the Yoruba as a culture, they immediately started circling around Abiola plotting on how to emasculate the north and strip us of every access we had to the politics and economy of this nation.
“They had also raised a secret army of their elites to carry out these sinister plans against the north if Abiola eventually became president. It was this army that was unleashed on the nation in the guise of NADECO during the June 12 impasse.
“May we remind the Yoruba that without the willingness and magnanimity of the north, there was no way Abiola could have purportedly won that election, and that all the Yoruba have now as assets in the south west, especially Lagos, were given to them by our leaders out of our own usual magnanimity.
“However, time and time again, the Yoruba have always turned their back on us whenever their support is needed. They have chosen to pitch tent with the Igbo this time around just to spite us, but we shall not succumb to their antics.”

  1. Why wouldn't there be assets in the South West when your people will not allow the few sensible ones amongst you to invest in your region, with the likes of Almajiri and Boko Haram ravaging your states. The only thing you know is to produce children that you cannot cater for, no wonder poverty is synonymous with the North and your children are either Okada riders or security guards in the South. Worse still, the few elites amongst you will Never allow the less privileged access to education or other resources that will liberate you from the self-imposed poverty. If Nigeria breaks today, your case will be worse than that of Sudan and Libya put together!

  4. You can now see where the Northerners are going. In one of my comments when quit notice was issued to Igbos, I said the Northerners should be asked their position on other parts of the country - Southwest, Niger Delta, Middle Belt etc. Can you see the trend now? The country, now more than ever before, needs referendum so that the different groups of people can go their different ways. Or, at best, restructure the country. Do either now; no delay, no procrastination. By the way, where are Oshiomhole and Amaechi, the idiots?

    1. Being a northerner, you always supposeto bury your head in shame for what Britain used your oligarchs to punish southern Nigeria and enslave middle beltans. Nigeria would have been better off with even a mad man from the south than all your elites put together. I ve had the opportunity to traverse the entire breath of Nigeria and stand in a better position to talk about her in all aspects. North are the most impoverished because of the type of Islamism they adopted and embraced. The question you should always ask yourself is, why are the arab gulf muslims progressing more than other muslims? Emir Sanusi has the answers. Restructuring whether politically or economically should make every region cut their coats according to their sizes and equally bring out the best in them. Necessity is the mother of invention! Please accept the bitter truth and help move your region forward. Pre-military era saw economic booms because of the structure then. Open your eyes and revolt against your criminal leaders rather than trading irresponsible words with more advanced southerners! As for the Yorubas, more is likely to unfold as you always prefer to sit on the fence.

    1. You get it all wrong. Yorubas has always been known to champion restructuring and physical federalism, but, not in the aggressive manner of the Igbos. Intelligence is a virture to extricate yourself from an idiot. This group is nothing but a media tiger. When the die is cast, we shall know who is who.

    1. You can only contest where you still have a country intact. In a situation whereby restructuring and physical federalism have taken place, presidency will not be attractive again, even your 'born to rule' will be begging Southerners to direct the affairs at the center.

  12. CAN YOU BEAT THIS ALMAJIRI CALLED Msheliza Muktari Zali OR WHATEVER SHE CALLS HERSELF. SHE REASONS AND THINKS FROM HER ANUS. SHE ALWAYS SOUNDS LIKE A BOKO HARAM RECRUIT OR IS SHE ADVERTISING HERSELF FOR POTENTIAL RECRUITMENT. NO MAN WHO HAS BALLS BETWEEN HIS LEGS WILL SOUND THE WAY THIS Msheliza USUALLY WRITES. SO HE IS SATISFIED WITH HIS POVERTY AND THE POVERTY OF HIS ALMAJIRI KITS AND KINS. THIS CRAB MENTALITY OF SUCH PEOPLE BAFFLES THE INTELLIGENT MINDS. THEY WANT ALL OF US TO REMAIN IN THIS CAGE WITH STRUGGLING TO BE FREE. I WANT FREEDOM. WHAT ABOUT YOU. THE FREEDOM MAY NOT BE SECESSIOM BUT FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE, CORRUPTION-FREE, RESTRUCTURING, TRUE-FEDERALISM, etc.

  13. Tanko and Shehu...may Allah stop the air you breath.... Is the country owned by u or your illiterate fore fathers? See we are ready for all your threats.... War for war and if u want peace we are ready..... Go back to the history of this country and take records of who had been ruling and bastardised us? The Igbo should be the one to rule but unfortunately they are association with your side has been their greatest error. Wo I am only disturbed by your useless speech.... May God send his wrath to all you bad leaders and senseless speakers like tank and Shehu

  14. This faceless group just springing up got it all wrong. SW has always been in the vanguard of restructuring and physical federalism. This even the right time to come to the table and renegotiate our union. No one asked the North to present a sick man as the best in the region for president. The Constitution is quite right on any eventuality. All this gra gra this group is making is only on media platforms.

  15. So they don't want the country to be restructured, lol,I laugh in Spanish..parasites that have nothing to offer this country, God shall punish all of you, this country will move on without you fools...idiot...

  16. I wonder why any right thinking Nigerians should border with this so called "a Coalition of Northern Arewa Youths". I am sure, they are bunch of jobless youths whose plan is to destabilize the country. If truly they are groups of responsible Arewa Youths, let them come out openly with the list of their leaders and sponsors. Nigerians should ignore their very existence. They should match to their leaders and demand of them on how to move the economy of the North forward. I am sure, certain of them must have had the privilege of touring the South and see the level of competitions that are on the ground. I would further encourage them to talk to someone like Aliko Dangote. North should encourage their youths to emulate Dangote and stop agitating for impossibility. I must mention that your political leaders have wasted the opportunities that Arewa youths have had over the years to develop the region. Traditionally, it has always been my observation that the Northern politicians have always encouraged poverty amongst the citizenry. This is why Almanjiri has destroyed the intelligence of the Arewa youths. I must not forget to mention that there are certain of them who have aspired to contribute their quotas to the economic growth of the country. Unfortunately, they are very few. A good and a practical example is Alhaji Aliko Dangote. This gentleman has an open hand by moving freely with his southern colleagues. Dangote is a free and totally committed Nigerian. He is not a tribalist. He is a man of virtue and of a great respect. The Arewa Youths should learn from this great Nigerian. The agitation for Biafra is encouraged by evil men and women like the Arewa Youths. If things were to be normal, the agitation should not have succeeded as it is today. Let there be need for Referendum. The need for it is now. The opportunity that presents itself now is spiritual and should be respected by those in authority. It is senseless, at this juncture, to encourage civil war. Our Colonial Masters have been looking forward to this for decades. We must not allow it. Let the enemies of Black Race be openly disgraced. A general look of the world polity evince introduction of Slavery to African once again. If the black race refused to face the reality on the ground, slavery may come to manifest itself in the continent. Would the Arewa Youths like to be enslaved by the world power? I am sure, the answer is capital NO! Why not work closely with your brothers and sisters and guaranty safety for all black race? This is a question that needs immediate answer. Conclusively, Nigeria must remain indivisible and an entity. We can learn from the American experience which make the USA the most powerful nation in the world today. Nigeria should come together and make even our on born children appreciate our collective unity. May peace rain supreme in our nation, amen!
