Fayose declares himself the next president of Nigeria

President Fayose?

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Friday in Ado Ekiti, said he would become the next president of Nigeria.

The governor, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, boasted that he had the attributes to wrestle power from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress in 2019.

He also boasted that former governors Segun Oni and Kayode Fayemi would fail if they contest the 2018 governorship election in the state.

According to him, neither of the two performed to an admirable level that Ekiti people would give them a second chance like he was given.

The governor spoke at a meeting with political office holders at the Government’s House, Ado Ekiti, where he also inspected Osoko Political Institute Centre.

He said, “Just because Ayo Fayose has won a second term to become governor of Ekiti, some people also think they can come back now, but I want to tell them that it is not possible. I am the man wholeheartedly loved by Ekiti people because of the many developmental projects that have brought great infrastructural and developmental advancement to Ekiti.

“If you go around Ekiti, you will see my handiwork dotting every nook and cranny of the state. This is why I am the man who every Ekiti people will follow in 2018.”

Fayose said he had the penchant for taking powers from people having defeated two former governors (Niyi Adebayo and Fayemi) in governorship elections.

“I have penchant for taking powers; that one in Buhari’s hand. I will take it. I’m going straight to that villa. I’m the next president.

“I want to be the next president of Nigeria. My own won’t be this change that has brought nothing, we are going to represent the people well and tell them the truth.”

  3. Leading a country like Nigeria is more than just barking and ranting Fayose. I guess what you should be thinking now is how to face the various corruption charges levelled against you after your tenure but I strongly doubt you coming out of it without being sent to jail.

  9. If Buhari can be the president after being considered an extremist, I don't see why fayose dosen't have a shot. He may not be perfect, but I believe fayose is not out of touch with the masses compared to Buhari. My northern miscreants must the north rule? You guys have occupied the seat of government for the better part of the last century yet made no credible impact but rather plunged us into the abyss of corruption, disunity and intolerance. You don't represent the interest of the whole country but yours. Religious and ethnic disposition should not be indicative of your choice for leadership but rather intelligence, good character and moral standing. Of which Buhari possesses none. Buhari is neither intelligent nor of good moral standing, he is bereft of ideas, visionlness and reeks of ineptitude to say the least. He mirrors the character of a whole lot of northern leaders except a few, say Sanusi who you guys have considered a traitor because of his openness and intelligible conduct towards non northerners and the likes. We can't sit on our laurels and watch you guys tear this country apart with your intolerance and disdain for people 'unlike' you. We will resist and fight you guys, not with weapons, but with a strong bond between the other part of the country who have been made to assume invisibility because of the surreptitious agenda of the northerners. To my yoruba brothers who have no tunnel vision, i hope you realize the northerners are not credible parthers/allies but the antithesis to the peace and stability of this country. Coexisting with mutual respect and tolerance is the bedrock to the advancement of Nigeria as a country. Don't be dismayed and misguided by the orchestrated division the north perpetuates; it works to their favor. But rather, be resilient and dogged in your quest to accentuate our common interest instead of exaggerating our differences like the north does. To the igbos, the horrors of war should be a litmus test towards our agitation for secession. Our judgment is being impaired by the nefarious and odious actions of Nnamdi Kanu and the likes. They shouldnt dictate your future for you let alone lead you to the said 'promised' land. It is an illusion that you are being sold. One with a clandestine purpose. Refrain from sowing discord whilst you continue to be model citizens of 'Nigeria'. Is there an underlying problem? Yes. Are you going about it the right way? No. Enough said. As a caveat, I still believe that there are a lot of very reasonable northerners. My views isn't to intentional label them as unpatriotic or malefactors but I believe they are easily swayed to demonize people who don't act or 'pray' like them. To these guys, I sincerely hope you stand in unison with us and rid Nigeria of the toxicity prevalent in the administration of today. Cheers

    1. You're really doing damage to already damage reputation of Fayose by calling the North, 'northern miscreants' forgetting that South alone cannot vote to make Fayose a president in Nigeria. This the same name calling and hate speech that must be jettison to have a united Nigeria.

  10. Self deceit leads to self declaration and self declaration leads to self destruction. He and his family members are all Nigerians who will vote for him.
