Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Jummai AlHassan, has said some of the 82 released Chibok girls would undergo surgery for various ailments.
AlHassan disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.
The Minister also stated that the girls were undergoing treatment, that would take a few weeks to complete.
She said the tests conducted on the 82 freed girls who were abducted by Boko Haram, had shown that some needed to be operated on.
“The 82 Chibok girls are currently undergoing medical screening in Abuja.
“Some of them need surgery; this should be completed in two to three weeks,” AlHassan said.
President Muhammadu Buhari received the girls last Sunday, before flying out to UK for further medical check-ups.
