Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
(EFCC) have reportedly told Sahara Reporters, that they have discovered a hotel
being constructed by Governor Yari of Zamfara State, with $3million from the
London-Paris Club loan refund.
Yari, who is the chairman of the Governor’s Forum, allegedly
diverted N19 Billion reportedly meant for “consultants” from the Paris club loan
refund.
The money had been illegally paid into the account of the
Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) by Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun
and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
It is understood that the hotel is a 100-room property
situated in Lekki area of Lagos.
EFCC officials say they plan to take over the hotel, as soon
as they obtain a court order.
Apart from the $3million, Governor Yari is said to have
diverted N500million from the Paris Club refund, to pay off a loan. Overall,
the Governor is said to have allegedly embezzled the sum of N2.2billion from
the N19billion set aside illegally to pay “consultants.”

You rape Nigerians of their basic human rights, ensure they continue to languish in poverty. When calamities befall them that were caused by your inactions, for instance squandering money's meant to immunize people against diseases like meningitis, you claim it is because of their sins that God is punishing them.
ReplyDeleteIf God punishes people for their sins as you claim. He will strike you down instantly.
A time will that religious and ethnic sentiments won't work on Nigerians again then we will see what incompetent leaders like you use as their weapon of discord
The ruling class in Nigeria are doing a great job by failing to let the youths get good education so that they would continue to be stupid and unintelligent to know they are being taken for fools by them.Until the learned and sensible ones amongst the youths educate the stupid and gullible ones to open their eyes and minds,to see the ruling political class as enemy number one,I sorry for the country
DeleteNigerians should be expecting implementation of the Sharia Law introduced by Zamfara State immediately on this State Governor if truly he diverted this huge amount of money. Else, the purported Sharia Law applied to the man that got his hand amputated some years back can claim injustice in the same Sharia Court.
ReplyDeleteSharia law? It is a sociopolitical Sharia law.it is only meant for the poor. The rich nd political leaders are above the Nigerian Sharia law.
DeleteDon't bring religion into this matter, thief is a thief, his act is barbaric. May God do him what he did to his workers and the entired citizens of zamfara state. Ameeen
ReplyDeleteWas it God dat cut off the hands of those dat stole then? Let same sharia court pass same judgement on this thief of a governor.

DeleteSmart gov. Now the light has come to shine on your darkness. Let Sharia law take its full cause on this case as a deterrent to others.
ReplyDeleteSo shameful an act.
