The Acting President, Yemi
Osinbajo, on Thursday said Nigerians should learn from history of the country’s
civil war rather than beat drums of a second civil war.
Osinbajo, who is currently
delivering a keynote address at an event organised to mark Biafra at 50, in
Abuja said, “while the wise learn from history, experience remains the best
teacher for a fool.”
The Acting President said while
it is kinder to learn from history, experience is a harsh teacher.
Stressing that there was no harm
in discussing the nation’s existence, Osinbajo called on Nigerians to use the
country’s diversity to make her great, “instead of trying to flee into the lazy
comfort of homogeneity.”
