Developed nations are at the brink of making meaningful and group breaking discoveries for advancement of humanity and mankind and all so called 3rd world citizens are debating is two guys failing to high five one another. No wonder we are referred to as underdeveloped and 3rd world nations. This two guys are not even recognized in the constitution, they are ceremonial office holders in this era of civilization,Nigerians must focus on more meaningful and developmental projects
ReplyDeleteeven civilized countries have culture and tradition worthy of respect and preservation. what is constitution have to do it tradition, even ooni of ife is recognized by nigerian govt and abroad check ur facts am not a yoruba man but i dont support disrespect of tradition. no matter the age of the ooni he is still the supreme leader of the yoruba people. though it was wrong of ooni to even extend hand of greetings to oba of lagos first, oba`s suppoed to have stood up when he entered the hall and come to the ooni seat and greet him.
DeleteDeveloped nations do have culture and traditions as rightly mentioned by you but they are smart enough to jettison anything that science could prove either wrong or immaterial.Obas and their chiefs in the past when civilization was emerging, were relevant then, not anymore.Even here in the UK,the Queen who was once paramount ruler now maintain a ceremonial position because they all imbibe civilization and accepted the monarchy is archaic and not relevant to modern lifestyle and development
DeleteWooowwww....so happy. What goes around comes around...2015 before general election..he said he will throw all igbos into lagoon....all of you supported oba of lagos....ntooooo for Una. Now is my turn to support oba....weeeellllldooneesssiiirrrrr
ReplyDeleteOba of Lagos is either not educated enough to understand history or he is just overtly disrespectful. Any how, what do you expect from a retired police man. Omo alaijoberi to onwa obe saya ewu.
ReplyDeleteWhat the Oba of Lagos (or, more correctly, Eleko of Eko) just did is one of the reasons traditional rulers should have no constitutional role. You become ruler, not by any merit or competence, but by accident of birth. Someone could have been a motor-park tout yesterday, but, if born into the right family, become traditional ruler today. In a merit-driven leadership, Eleko of Eko (so-called Oba of Lagos) would not even smell leadership.
ReplyDeleteIn conclusion Oba of Lagos is suppose to be known and called "Eleko of Eko" because is domain never extend beyond Lagos Island.
ReplyDeleteDat mean is just like a baale of a village in wilderness
