Nigeria’s premier University, University of Ibadan, Oyo State has ventured into the production of rice courtesy of the Faculty of Agriculture as yuletide begins nationwide.
The cereal has been packaged into bags branded with the school name and sold at relatively cheap prices, courtesy of the Faculty of Agriculture of the school.
Sources who are representatives of the school quoted a 10kg bag of rice as N4,000 while a 25kg bag goes for N9,500.
The rice is said to be available at the "UIshopwell", a store at the Faculty of Agriculture of the school.

ReplyDeleteEl matosky you are quite right.
ReplyDeleteMumu go overseas and stay with them so you can enjoy free rice. Idiot you forgot that this country you import everything from once had a tough time.
ReplyDeleteVisit any supermarket 99.9% of the goods in there were imported. Yet you want to get job for the youth, when industry where people are supposed to be engaged are all in overseas. The little money the country should be used to buy from outside. Now how do you create job for our teeming youth. Mumu used your brain and think. Carefully look around you right now and asked yourself what are we really producing in this country. You want every thing free go to Freetown nothing is free there, stupid idiot empty brain but basketmouth
You are only playing to the gallery, it is only your contemporary that will read your comments and laugh like fools, lazy and above all empty score.
ReplyDeleteBy the time you get to know where I come from in this great country, you will be ashamed of your self. I have never pretend because there is no reason to do so. That is my name, more over where I come has no meaning. Forget about where I come from just comment sensible on this platform. It is an opportunity for everyone to contribute to the development of the country and not to show that you can speak rubbish. I beg use people like us to build your IQ. Anuohia like you. Onyakula like you.
ReplyDeleteSelf sufficiency in rice production is a journey that should be supported by all of us. 19000 Naira for 50kg is expensive, but it will encourage more people to go into rice farming and production which will leads to more supply thereby forcing the price down . You can imagine what will happen if all state in the federation and universities key into food production. Let appreciate UI, at least someone is thinking. What are Agric university are waiting for..
ReplyDeleteNonsense! Nonsense! When you do well, without anyone acknowledging your worth, just be patient, when you least expect, God would promote you. I am advising Nigerians to live a life worthy of emation by place love for humanity as priority as against vis-a-via. This then would bring a time of refreshments. Once there'sife, there's hope because we bring nothing to this world neither can we take anything away.
