The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State has expressed readiness to support the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to probe the tenure of Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
This is just as the party described Saturday’s governorship election in the state, which its candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), won as unprecedentedly peaceful, free and fair in the history of the state.
In an interview with newsmen on Sunday, the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Adesanya, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for the prompt arrival and delivery of electoral materials to the polling units across the state.
Also, the party described the simultaneous accreditation and voting system adopted by INEC as a landmark, adding that it was largely responsible for the absence of electoral malpractices and violence.
Adesanya praised the electorate and the people of Ondo State for their peaceful conduct before, during and after the election.
He said, “Already investigations are ongoing about the Mimiko government. If the anti-graft agencies such as the EFCC need any information from us to assist in their investigation, the incoming APC-led government of the state would provide all the necessary assistance and information.
