Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong, has ended his season-long loan with Norwegian club Haugesund after helping them to a fourth-place finish in the topflight.
The defender, who was on loan from Belgian side, Gent, led the Arabs to a place in Europe, before ending his loan move.
The 23-year-old was not in action for the Haugesund outfit as they held Stroemsgodset to a 1-1 draw at home on Sunday evening to guarantee their Europa league ticket.
The former Tottenham Hotspur youth player shared the message via his Instagram page where he appreciated the club’s support and waved goodbye.
He wrote, “FK Haugesund it has been an amazing year. Top 4 finish and Europa League next season!
“I want to say a big thank you to my teammates, staff and of course all the fans! I couldn’t be more proud to have been captain of such a great club.
“All good things come to an end but I will never forget my time here in Norway. Tusen Takk! William.”
