The Niger State capital, yesterday witnessed power failure as the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and his wife, Dolapo, attended the 8th Minna Choral Society Annual Festival of Songs.
The ceremony had barely ran for five 30 minutes when power was disrupted for about five minutes and this brought the event to a momentary halt.
Also in attendance were the state government, Mohammed Bello and other dignitaries from within and outside the state.
It took the intervention of former CJN, Justice Legbo Kutigi (retd) some minutes to restore electricity through a generator.
The state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, who accompanied the vice president to the Christian Choral Music ceremony was not, however, in the hall when it was thrown into darkness as he had stepped out of the hall briefly.
Some of the dignitaries who spoke to our correspondent, expressed disappointment over the embarrassment it caused the Vice President and other important dignitaries who had thronged the hall for the annual programme.
