Senator Buruji Kashamu has said that the PDP lost the Ondo State governorship election to the All Progressives Congress (APC) because the outgoing governor, Olusegun Mimiko, “refused” to heed to advice by fielding a prospective successor from his senatorial zone.
In a statement on Sunday, Senator Kashamu explained that Mimiko was advised that Ondo voters would resist the “injustice” of producing a successor from the same senatorial district where he hails.
“It is not that Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, is not a good material. He is urbane, intelligent and smart. He would have probably won had he come from any other senatorial zone than Mimiko’s.
“In a political party, like every other setting, people are bound to have disagreements and protect their interests. Senator Makarfi should not let governors Mimiko and Fayose to mislead him any further. The mess that they have put the party is already more than enough,” he said.

He betrayed GEJ took all his money did nothing(did not campaign) he betrayed Adefarati for Agagu later betrayed Agagu for Tinubu who supported him throughout his ordeal while in Labour Party trying to become governor on becoming one he betrayed Tinubu and later betrayed Labour party for PDP on coming to PDP he hijacked d party structure and that was the beginning of PDP problems in Ondo state. He's a cunning thief, he looted the state, he took control of everything! No payment goes out except through him. He needs to be probed seriously. We in the state are tired of his manipulations.
